Emek HV Test Laboratory

EMEK Elektrik Endüstrisi A.Ş. was started its production in a small workshop in Ankara Siteler on January 31, 1969. The first certified manufacturing was delivered to EMKOL-İzmir company in July 1969.

In 1971 it signed a technology transfer agreement with Balteau (Belgium) covering production of oil current and inductive voltage transformer up to 170 kV and dry type epoxy transformer in order to bring abroad economic and up-to-date technology to our country. In 1972, EMEK moved into its new plants 23 km away from Ankara city center. Today it has factory of 10.836 m² enclosed, 22.619 m² open area.

In 1975 EMEK signed another technology transfer agreement for production of capacitive voltage transformer and LV power condensers with ICAR (Italy).

In 1978, EMEK established its own research and test laboratory to conduct all routine and type tests of measurement transformers (except short circuit resistance for current transformers). Recently a cooling room of 5 meters ceiling height and capable to have temperature up to -45°C was added to the laboratory.

In 1982, EMEK started to export measurement transformers. The first lot of exported goods was 145 kV current and voltage transformers sold to WAPDA/Pakistan.

Emek Elektrik targets at high quality and safe production taking into account safety and environmental requirements. Emek Elektrik's design and production quality is approved by both local and foreign institutes.

Emek Test Plants are accredited by Independent international institutes. Emek has ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, TS EN ISO IEC 17025 and TS EN ISO IEC 17020 certificates.

Our High Voltage Laboratory at our plants was accredited by TÜRKAK in respect to TS EN ISO IEC 17025 standard as of 09.08.2011.

Except short circuit tests for current transformers, all of Type and Routine tests can be conducted at EMEK laboratories in compliance with international standards (IEC, BS, ANSI, AS etc.)
